Something Blue

Rock / Texas Rock / Blues

Starts @ 9p / Cover $10

Something Blue has been re-imagining the Texas music scene and gaining fans since 2004 one live performance at a time. That’s when founding members, Delano Guevara (guitar/ vocals) and Angelo Lopez (electric and upright bass), decided to reinvent what a blues based rock-band could be: equal parts stripped-bare rock and juke-joint bounce, with the chops to cover anything lying in between. With the 2012 additions of new front man Daniel Wilson (lead vocals) and Terry Roberts (drums / vocals), Something Blue has reached its prime in delivering what the group has guaranteed to fans from day one... Quality. Diverse. Entertainment.

Having opened for Jimmy Vaughan, Buddy Guy, and John Mayall in the bands early days– to name just a few – Something Blue developed a non-traditional sound that incorporates influences ranging from Merle Haggard and Buck Owens, to Nirvana and Rage Against The Machine. Rollicking choruses, searing guitar, rolling bass lines and gospel-trained, demon drumming captivates every type of audience – from classic blues enthusiasts to rock fans…to the people who care absolutely nothing about music and there strictly to party.

Something Blue knows the history of the blues, rock, rhythm and blues, country, rap, etc…but seek to put their own flair and edge on things. “It’s just how we play and what comes out,” says Guevara. “We have that freedom to do what we want and sound how we want.” And they’ve got the talent to pull it off … with plenty to spare.
